Medications are the most common therapeutic intervention in healthcare, yet the efficacy and safety of these medications can be considerably different between individuals. Some individuals are prescribed inefficacious medication, whereas others develop adverse drug reactions.

Pharmacogenomics examines how genetic makeup influences their response to medications helping clinicians understand what medications and dosages are best for an individual. This process helps minimise trial-and-error in prescribing medications and dramatically reduces the risk of side effects.

This test analyses 5 genes known to affect metabolisation and response of different heart medications.

This report provides guidance from the Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium for medication management.
It is not a recommendation to start or stop medications.
